Bystander Intervention

Bystander intervention is one of the most effective and commonly used work techniques in preventing workplace harassment and discrimination. When you train your staff to be bystanders in a work setting they can professionally intervene and stop any inappropriate behavior. The bystanders will prevent the behavior from escalating to the level of harmful harassment.

Bystander is a term used to refer to individuals who are in a group and there should be available to help each other. The bystander intervention helps the workers to understand how to act, and when to act when in an uncomfortable work situation. Bystander training is important for both onsite and remote teams. Its main advantage is giving the staff a deeper understanding of how the bystander intervention strategy can discourage harassment at the workplace, protect targets of harassment and discrimination, and prevent any future cases of harassment in a work environment.

One evident thing is that incorporating bystander intervention as part of your working culture will help your team have a collective responsibility towards each other. Feel the need to protect each other at work.
